House help murdered after denying robbers access to the house.
A house help
was on Wednesday morning shot dead by armed robbers in Komarock area after she
denied them access to her employer’s house.
Florence
Munene was on her way back to the house after dropping off her employer’s
children to school when she met the gang of robbers.
The gang is
said to have cornered Ms Munene and ordered her to take them to her employer’s
house.
She is said
to have co-operated and walked with the men towards Mr Bernard Kimangu’s house,
but let out a loud scream just outside the door.
Mr Kimangu
opened the door, but on seeing the armed robbers, closed it immediately before
they could get could get in.
The robbers
then shot at Ms Munene on her head and she died instantly.
Kayole OCPD
Ali Nuno told Nairobi News that police are still combing the area in
pursuit of the gang and so far no arrests have been made.
“The robbers
escaped right after the incident and we are on high alert to ensure they are
found,” he added.
Kayole is
one of Nairobi’s crime prone area. In April this year, a five member
gang stormed Mihango Police Station and attempted to steal firearms.
Police officers on duty fought back and killed one member of the gang.
