Kiambu women ‘discipline’ 7 drunk men in fight against alcoholism
War against
alcoholism is the talk of the nation during the month of June. Well men are
being swept away by illicit brews and also many have become a disgrace to the
society since there is nothing they can help to build the Nation but all what
they know is waking up and going to the drinking dens. That has become a
routine to most men and also ladies and the biggest percentage of these people
are the youth from Kiambu and its environs.
Well Kiambu
women have decided enough is enough and they decided to discipline 7 drunk men
last week.
The women
were lamenting that men in that region had abandoned their domestic rolls and turned
to alcohol.
“The
alcohol sellers want to make a profit but society is left crying that men and
sons have abandoned their responsibilities,” resident Nancy Muthoni said.
She said
many young people divorce because men are unable to sire children due to the
effects of illicit brews.
“These
men contribute money and buy drinks from an alcohol wholesaler. They proceed to
drink in corridors behind bars and shops,” resident Monica Wairimu said.
