Another Nyeri woman does it again

A Nyeri woman has denied charges of assaulting her lover after they had disagreed over money. Ms Mugure and Mr Mwangi are said to have been living together for months and reportedly quarreled over money which led to the incident.

Ms Valentine Mugure, 25, appeared before a Nyeri court on Wednesday where she denied the charges of assaulting her lover Mr paul Mwangi 26. The prosecution applied for the accused to be remanded as the victim was still in critical condition after undergoing surgery.

Resident Magistrate J. Aringo directed that the accused be remanded pending mention of the case on June 15. Mr Mwangi, a cashier in Nyeri town, was taken to Nyeri Referral Hospital on Tuesday early morning after being stabbed in his left shoulder and his manhood cut.

The incident happened at Gamerock near Nyeri town.

Neighbours said they were awakened by the woman’s screams, but when they responded, the saw Mr Mwangi’s stab wounds.

They separated them and disarmed the woman, before police picked her for investigations.
