Class 5 school girl has been sleeping at fathers doorstep for three years

A standard 5 girl from Marura Primary school In Kariobangi North has been living a miserable life in the hands of her father and grand mother for the past three years. The girl has been putting up with the cold nights outside her father's doorstep where she has been calling a 'bedroom' for the period of 3 years.

The girl has two other siblings a brother and a sister who enjoy the comfort of that she is always denied. They live with their father but their grandmother lives just nearby and this gives her the opportunity to control the affairs of her son's house. Everyday the grandmother ensures the other two children have fed well and gone to bed.
The girl's father is known to own three Matatus along the Kayole route but the where abouts of the girl's mother are unknown. The girl's father is reportedly said to step on the young girl in the evening as he enters the house. The Family does not feed the girl and she mostly relies on generosity of the neighbors.
Mr David Wanyoike, a neighbor who is also the National Youth Council representative in Kariobangi, told Nairobi News that the girl has been sleeping on the doorsteps since he moved to the apartments in 2012.
He said that he has reported the matter at the Kariobangi police station several times, and only was he recently given OB No. 38/10/8/2015.

An investigating officer was reached regarding the matter and he agreed that the matter was indeed reported to the police some time back and the grandmother was arrested but later released on the grounds that she promised to take care of the girl.

Little did they know that the woman only housed the girl for one night and later kicked her out the following day.
The girl uses mats and rags to cover herself as the grandmother reacts vigorously to anyone who tries to help her with blankets. The girl has a very contagious cough and is getting worse by day.
