Embakasi Mp Apologises for 'offensive' Post on social media
Embakasi West Member of parliament Hon Geoge Theuri had to apologise to his constituents for rudely responding to a members' query on social media.
It all started after a Member of the constituency posted a photo of a dilapidated water-logged road in the neighborhood and captioned it: Hon Theuri, This is Umoja 1p.
The
honorable member of parliament decided to put of the man by issuing
an 'offensive' like comment and said.
“This
is a county govt road you know who to ask,” he wrote and later
added: “I thought I was not employed alone there is someone
else you employed to forward your concern to the county govt…..I
cannot forward both to national govt and county……..I stand to be
corrected my boss.”
Well
residents who saw the remark did not take it lightly and demanded
that the MP takes responsibility for development issues in the area.
“Mheshimiwa,
that was a concerned resident and I think that’s not the right way
to respond. Isn’t campaign motto ‘tutajenga mabarabara’ the
norm on the lips (sic)??? Correct us if we are wrong too but I think
that’s a genuine concern. Otherwise, kudoz for the jobo uv done soo
far,” D’wayne Edd III wrote.
“When someone asks a
question means that he was up the wall n felt like this is the only
person he can ask maybe since he doesn’t know who’s who in the
ward. Some peoples answers though leaves a lot to be desired,”
Felister Kinyanjui
said. These reactions compelled Theuri to retract his earlier comment.
“Hapo sawa bro I appreciate and sorry guys if I sounded rude….. kila mtu awajibike na responsibility aliyopewa na raia,” he wrote
