Kidero Grass now a source of income to Nairobi county
Kidero
grass is one of the main projects in the beautification of Nairobi
City. It was one of the steps taken to make the city decent before
the visit of America's head of state.
The
grass plantation had become the talk of the Nation after Kenyans
experienced the grass being planted a week before President Obama
came to the country. This caused a major uproar on social media as
Kenyans reacted towards Governor Kidero's Faith that indeed the grass
would have grown within three days.
Well
now the grass is in its mature stage and is being monitored and
maintained by the the environment Monitoring and enforcement team.
This team has been a watchdog of the county and has been on the look
out for offenders who ignore the warning 'keep off grass'.
Currently
many Nairobians have been caught on the wrong side ignoring the signs
to keep off grass and have been arrested and fined dearly for the offense.
Weekly
the county is making thousands of cash from fines charged on the
offenders who are caught off guard. Some blogs claim the county is
minting millions weekly from these offenders. Talkofnairobi.com is
yet to establish the average amount the county makes since millions
in a week is a huge figure to imagine in a given week.
