Panic at kenya's biggest mall after a man found with explosive device

There was panic at the newly opened Garden City Mall after a man was arrested for attempting to smuggle in an improvised explosive device in the Mall. 

 

According to reports, the man was intercepted at 3.30 pm Tuesday as he tried walking in the mall carrying the device. He was detained by the private security guards manning the entrance until the anti-terrorism police unit was called. The anti-terrorism team confirmed that the device was an IED and the man was taken to custody together with two other men for questioning.

The device was detonated in an open ground by the disposal unit. said Mr Mboloi. Normal operations have resumed at the mall.
