SHAME! Kenyan Gov't Ordered to Pay Fine After Athletes Allegedly Steal Property




While the government is currently Undergoing hard economic times and pressure due to the ongoing teachers' strike there are other individuals raising the burden to the government to pay for petty items they can afford to buy for themselves. According to the Chief of Mission, Gordon Oluoch of All- Africa Games, Several Kenyan athletes left the games with hotel Duvets and Towels hence forcing him to remain behind until the investigations were completed.
Not only are these individual increasing burden to the Kenyan government but are causing a big embarrassment to the country. These athletes are well paid and what they are accused of getting away with are items they can comfortably afford to buy for themselves.

It is unfortunate that our people are stealing things that they can afford or easily buy in second-hand shops in Nairobi. It is a shame,” he said.
We lost three towels and four keys at Kasarani. Each towel is worth Sh3,000 while losing keys force us to replace the locks which is Sh10,000 each,” said Anthony Kariuki, the Deputy Chief of Mission.
The athletes however denied the claims, insisting that the allegations belittled their hard earned glory.
CEO of Athletic Kenya (AK) Isaac Mwangi, sided with the athletes stating that the team is too disciplined to engage in petty theft.
We train our athletes not only to succeed but to also abide by the set code of conduct. We have never experienced cases of theft in the federation, these claims are therefore unfounded,” Mwangi argued.
