KCPE Candidates Drown Just Days To Their Examinations
A village in Nyandarua county was left in grief after two Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination candidates drowned just days to their tests.
The two boys, aged 14 and 15, are reported to have been in a group of four teenagers who had gone fishing in a dam in Kinangop on Monday, October 12.
Samuel Njoroge, a witness, told The Standard that one of the boys slipped and fell into the dam and the second one tried to help him.
“His colleague dived in to rescue him but he too drowned with the other boys rushing to seek assistance from members of the public,” Njoroge as quoted by the paper.The deceased were students at Amani Primary School. Their bodies were retrieved and taken to Naivasha sub county hospital mortuary.
The KCPE examinations are set to be done between November 10 and 12, with over 937,000 sitting for the national tests
