Zeal, determination and patience are one of the key words to success. This is an inspiring story of some matatu owners who decided to team up and focus on a dream that they wanted to achieve and today we see the fruits of their labour.

It all started with three makangas who decided to start a saving scheme of KSH10 per day in order to enrich themselves in the near future. They shared their dream with colleagues and they started a scheme “chama” where they were contributing KSH 200 per person every day and everyone was focused to the dream that they had set to achieve one day. It took them about 15-20 years of perseverance in order for them to achieve their desired objective.

Today umoinner matatu business has a capital base of KSH 500million and it is ranked among the best run matatu sacco in Kenya
