NAIROBI'S NEW DEAL ON COMMUTER TRAINS. FAST TRANSPORT COMING SOON
Technology Is changing vastly in Kenya and development is
another step that Kenya is taking. Many rural towns have become urbanized due
to the high population of people and the developments in the region. The
government has looked into the transport sector in the country and major
improvements a have been made and everybody country wide can bear witness of
that since the construction of the Thika
super highway was done within a short time and the construction of the northern
and southern bypass are almost through.
These changes have taken the country to another level since
transport has been made efficient for good moving to and from eastern and
western of Kenya. Now in progress the construction of the 13billion mega
railway running from the port of Mombasa to the capital city Nairobi and
extending to the neighboring country Uganda. This will ease transport of bulky
goods from the port to the city and also to Kisumu and Uganda.
Now here kidero is on the process of bringing change to Nairobi
after he has done his research on commuter trains and he signed a deal with
Japanese Yurikamome. The intended plan here is to bring this commuter trains in
Kenya where they will serve over 170 000 commuters every day. The system is
fully automated and should be running 16 hours every day and is expected to
ease the congestion in the city.
