8 things you should know about M-Pesa shut down from saturday to sunday.

Mpesa services will not be available during the weekend. Reason being, Safaricom will be relocating their servers from Germany to Kenya. Due to this some of the services will be cut off starting Friday

From Friday

1)      Registration of new customers will be non-functional from Thursday to Sunday.

2)      Transfer of cash to other networks will be impossible during that period.

3)      A customer cannot be in a position to change his/her M-Pesa pin when the upgrade is taking place.

4)      Credit services from M-Shwari will be non-fuctional too. You cannot be in a position to borrow or repay a loan during that period.

5)      M-Pesa users will not be in a position to send cash to unregistered users.

 FROM SATURDAY

6)      Here the whole system will be shut down hence sending and receiving money will not be possible.

7)      You will not be in a position to pay your bills. I.e power, buying goods in a supermarket or depositing money in the bank.

8)      You will not be in a position to buy airtime from M-Pesa during the period.
