Nairobi prostitutes complain of high losses due to reversed money transactions (STORY)

Nairobi prostitutes have loudly raised an alarm of encountering conman ship after their clients pay for the services using mobile money transfer methods and later reverse the transactions. The commercial sex workers claim that the practice has been on the rise and they are making losses of thousands of shillings every day.

One of the workers revealed to Nairobi news of how their clients come and get their service and pay willingly via money transfer and later calls the service provider and claims that he had sent the money to the wrong number and the transaction is reversed. She gave her encounter of her client who paid her Ksh 2000 and later reversed the transaction. It took her a period of one hour before she came to realize that the money had been reversed. She called the customer care to enquire why this had happened and she was briefed that the customer had called at the Centre and claimed to have sent the money to a wrong number. She argued her case and the customer care told her he will get to her after a while.

The lady also said that it’s very difficult to notice conmen tricks in their job.

Other people who have experienced such an incident is Taxi drivers, traders in electronics and other people owning big businesses.
