Bodies from river Nyamindi accident not yet found.

Five members of a Family lost their lives when their saloon car plunged in Nyamindi River as they were travelling to Nairobi from Meru. The accident had occurred on the early hours of Sunday. Reports have it that it was difficult to remove the vehicle from the river and it took 10 hours for it to be retrieved from the raging waters.  After retrieval of the car only one body was recovered and four others were missing.

An area resident, Davidson Kibunyi, said the rescue mission to recover the bodies from the river has been made difficult by the raging water.

He said the bodies may be recovered downstream at the intake, which supplies water to Mwea irrigation scheme.
