Drunk AP shoots himself while cleaning a friend's pistol

An administration officer lost his life on Friday morning after he shothimself in Ziwani estate, Nyahururu. Reports have it that Mr Musa Kiplangat Barmassai a senior sergeant was cleaning a ceska pistol at a friend’s house at 3a.m after they had spent the night drinking at a bar in Nyahururu.

Confirming the incident, Nyahururu DCIO Kavete Kulova said the pistol belonged to a Nairobi based businessman Papius Thuku Kinyua who is a licensed firearm holder.

The DCIO said that due to the drunken state of the officer, he might have removed the magazine but left a bullet in the chamber which launched while dismantling it for cleaning. The bullet went through his palm and into his left thigh and died after he bled profusely for three hours.
