Kenya power shuts down two substations due to floods.
Parts of Nairobi will have to bear with the Kenya power
supply since two of the substations were flooded following heavy rains that
pounded the city. The company’s general manager for infrustracture development
said that the two submerged stations located in in Nairobi West and Karen (near
Bomas of Kenya) were switched off in order to avoid any possible damage that
may occur.
“The good news is that much of the waters have receded in
both substations by this morning; our engineers will later assess and test
equipment later before restoring supplies in the course of day,” he said.
