PHOTOS: The standard gauge railway is now taking shape
The standard Gauge railway is rapidly taking shape and a good report can
be derived from the transforming landscape and livelihoods. 21 campsites have
been erected along the route in order to ease supervision in every section
where work is in progress. Two factories have been started in order to supply
the sleepers and T-beams for supporting bridges.
The Ksh 345 Billion project is scheduled for completion in June 2017. It
will support freight trains at a speed of up to 80km/h and a passenger trains
at a maximum speed of 120km/h.
