Vietnamese arrested at JKIA for possession of Rhino horns and lion teeth worth 12million.
A Vietnamese was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International
on Friday night after he was found in possession of rhino horns and lion teeth
which were said to have a value of Ksh 12million. According to the police
reports, the man was heading to Honoi from Maputo in Mozambique. His lagguage
contained seven pieces of rhino tails and lion teeth and all this weighed 11.89
KG and were wrapped with polythene bags.
“He had just alighted
from a Kenya Airways flight at around 11 p.m and he looked suspicious and
nervous and so we asked to check his belongings,” airport CID boss, Judy Jebet
said.
He is being held by the police waiting to be charged in
court on Monday.
