Former president Mwai Kibaki's elder brother dies after collapsing at home.

Mwai Kibaki’s elder brother Bernard Nderitu died on Monday at his home in
Iriani, ( Nyeri county)
His wife
said that they had just taken breakfast when the 88 year old husband, Mr
Nderitu excused himself and later collapsed as he approached the bathroom. She
narrated to reporters how she heard a loud bang at the bathroom door and when
she rushed to find out what was wrong, she found her husband motionless and no
more.
Mr Nderitu
was earlier in January admitted in hospital in Nairobi for two weeks where he
was being treated of Pneumonia. The family said that he responded well to
treatment and he was not unwell at the moment of his death. His death came as a
sudden shock to them.
The deceased
will be remembered for sacrificing his education for his younger brother Mwai
Kibaki who later became the third president of the Republic of Kenya.
