How a stray bullet changed the life of a Nairobian man
Mr Fredrick
Omondi, 35, is walking around with a bullet in his chest. Omondi claims that he
was hit by a stray bullet 2 weeks ago while he was in a regular meeting in
shauri mwoyo. It all started after police officers raided an illicit brew den
that was just a few meters away from where Omondi and other members of a
welfare group were holding a meeting.
There was
some commotion at the illicit brew den as some residents attempted to stop the
raid and later Omondi recalls hearing gunshots. One of the members in the
meeting where Omondi was suggested they leave since they could be hit by a
stray bullet and it was then that after some few minutes a bullet Hit Omondi on
his right hand and penetrated through and stopped at his chest. He was lucky
since it had not raptured any of his bones.
After
seeking medical attention, he was told by the doctor to remain with the bullet
as it was too close to the heart and removing it could risk rapturing an
artery.
