How Mugo wa wairimu was bursted in a hotel in Limuru

Two witnesses, Mr Eliud Gitari and Mr Peter Njoroge — who were also in the eatery — noticed Mugo and immediately notified the local Administration Police Commandant, Mr Michael Ndegwa.
Mugo was dressed in a khaki suit, a jungle green cap and sunglasses to cover his eyes. He was enjoying a meal of chapati and vegetables when he was arrested.
Mr Gitari said he became suspicious and after some time, realised the patron was the same person he had watched on television having been linked to a video showing a “doctor” raping an unconscious patient.
He informed his friend, Mr Njoroge, who in turn used his phone to take seven pictures of the suspect.

“I kept looking at him and compared his face with a photo which I had in my phone. I was sure it was him,” Mr Gitari said.

Concerned that the public would lynch Mugo if they got wind of his whereabouts, Mr Njoroge left the eatery and called Mr Ndegwa.
Mr George Nyoike, a waiter at the eatery, said Mr Mugo kept his face well hidden even when he was placing his order.
“He came in like an ordinary customer. When he sat down, I went to him to take his order but even when placing his order, he kept his gaze on the table and never looked up even once. I did not suspect anything until the police arrived,” Mr Nyoike said.
He said Mugo spent about an hour in the eatery and appeared not to be in a hurry.

The eatery management denied that Mugo had been holed up there since Monday.
Mr Ndegwa said after arresting the suspect, they asked him for his identification. They also asked him whether he was the one accused of sedating and raping patients at his hospital and he answered in the affirmative.
