REVEALED. Why Inspector General Boinnet Won’t Close Kenyan Roads For The Pope

Joseph Boinnet, the Inspector General of Police, has claimed that Nairobi roads will stay open during Pope Francis’s November visit.
The Inspector General is instead encouraging people to line up at the side of the road in Nairobi to welcome the Pope. Boinnet made his comments to a group of senior level police officials from Nairobi county.
Boinnet said about the visit: “unlike what happened when President Obama came to Kenya in July and we closed major roads in the city, when the Pope arrives, we will call on Kenyans to come to the roads to see and welcome him. No business will be closed.”
Boinnet added that a plan was already underway to accommodate the Pope’s visit in November, reports The Standard.
Pope Francis will visit Kenya between Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27.
The Pope’s visit to Kenya had been questionable as late as June of 2015, with the Vatican citing “organisational” problems with visiting the Kenya. Many of the logistical issues are thought to stem from the ongoing issue with the radical al-Shabaab militia who frequently carry out attacks in Kenya.
The visit would mark the first time that the leader of the Catholic church would visit Kenya since 1995.
