6 die in Eldoret while siphoning fuel from a fallen tranker
6 people are reported to have lost their lives on Friday November 13th along Eldoret- Webuye road as they shiphoned fuel from a fallen tanker.
3 people died on the spot while the other three died while receiving treatment at Lumakanda district hospital in Lungari. The 6 lost their lives after inhaling the toxic fumes as they scooped fuel from the tanker.
The tanker was transporting fuel to Uganda before it lost control and plunged into a ditch.
Eldoret West Police boss Smolletts Munyanzi told The Star that the victims raised alarm that they were having difficulty breathing after inhaling the petrol fumes, but that efforts to rescue them were futile, and they suffocated.
