President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived with flair at the Cord stronghold of Kakamega on the morning of Saturday, November 14.

The president kicked off his tour of western Kenya by opening a border post to Uganda in the Bungoma county village of Lwakhakha.
The president said of his visit on his Facebook page: “Earlier today I arrived in Kakamega before proceeding to Lwakhakha in Bungoma County where I officially opened a Border Point between Kenya and Uganda. Deputy President William Samoei Ruto accompanied me on the tour that will see us visit several markets in the region, culminating in a meeting with Western leaders.”
This isn’t the first time that a visit from President Kenyatta has attracted huge interest in western Kenya.
Three months ago business in Kisumu’s busiest street Oginga Odinga came to a standstill while residents welcomed President Kenyatta to the city for the third time this year.
He was in the lakeside city for the final competitions of the 89th schools national music festival.
