Gospel star BAHATI’s action leaves many talking: See what he did (Photos)

Award-winning gospel singer, Bahati, has embarked on an ambitious project, which he hopes will help youths living within Eastlands area make a decent living.

The
Barua hit maker has opened a new music studio targeting talented youths who cannot afford the huge studio fees charged by established studios.

Bahati claims that his new studio, which will be known as Eastlands Most Beloved (EMB) Records, will charge a reasonable fee, especially to upcoming artistes, and will offer professional services.

The singer, who touched the hearts of many Kenyans after he adopted a young school going child from a children's home, says that his move is inspired by his experience growing up in abject poverty. He intimated that he does not want other young people to go through the hardship, struggle and loss of hope he went through when he was growing up in Eastlands.

With the little that God has blessed me with, I opted to start a music studio that will help me mentor and support artists and talents from different parts of this County. I know many are artists with a dream of getting the best quality musically/artistically but are not in a position to pay these great producers just like my case was. It has been in my heart that I should mentor and help artists who tomorrow will change the history of where I come from – the ghetto… the Eastlands.” Bahati said.

Bahati went ahead to disclose what his dream for starting EMB is:

It’s my desire that when we talk of Eastlands some years to come poverty should not be the first image on our minds; but instead talent, innovations, empowerment and where stars are born. I might not be in a position to help everyone, but I’ll be here to make sure this production house gives every artist the best quality with professionalism no matter you’re an uprising artist or established; with reasonable studio fees to help everyone achieve their goals and dreams,” he said.

And to show his goodwill, the gospel star is offering to foot half of the studio fees for the first 20 artists to record at his newly opened studio.
