Here are reactions from Kenyans after taj mall demolition plans emerged

The National Land commission (NLC) has revoked the title deed of the two acres of land where Taj Mall, a mega shopping mall along the Outering Road, is built, effectively allowing the destruction of the building to pave way for the expansion of the road.
According to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), the mall is built on land meant for road expansion and its request to have the mall brought down was granted when NLC revoked the title deed.
The proprietor of the mall, Ramesh Gorasia, has vowed never to allow the mall to be demolished, saying that he will sue the government because he legally obtained the title deed for the parcel of land.
Business owners in the mall have been warned to brace themselves for mega loses when KURA makes good its threats.
According to Ramesh, the mall, together with the businesses in it, is valued at KSh 15 billion. Ramesh has wondered if the government will be able to compensate the money if it has failed to pay teachers.
While this is the latest development in town, the news has been received with mixed reactions by Kenyans who know the mall or have businesses in it.
While some argue that it is time the mall paved way for the expansion of the road, others argue that the government should be held responsible for issuing title deeds on public land illegaly.
