Parts of Garissa and Chalbi Desert experience flash floods as 3 people perish in narok. (PHOTOS)

As heavy rainfall gathers pace around the country, flash floods in Narok County have claimed the lives of three including two children at Talek area on Monday evening.
According to St John’s Ambulance Communications Officer Fred Majiwa, the floods swept the victims along a valley as they returned home from grazing their cattle.
One of the bodies, belonging to a boy, was discovered while search and rescue operations were still ongoing to recover the others(at time of writing). In his statement on Tuesday, Majiwa said several houses were also destroyed.

Elsewhere, heavy downpour caused destruction in the usually dry parts of Northern Kenya. Parts of Garissa, North Horr and Laisamis received substantial rains. According to the Kenya Red Cross Society, the lower Chalbi Desert was flooded on Monday.
