A stampede happened at university of Nairobi kikuyu campus early this morning around 4AM. A transformer in the school compound exploded.

Students sustained injuries as they fled for safety as they thought that they had been attacked by terrorists. Nairobi Police boss Benson Kibue told capital fm news that the students were injured as they tried to escape from their hostels thinking it was a terror attack. “The situation has been put to control.” He said.
The injured students were jumping through the windows of their high storey building hostels. Others were even jumping from the sixth floor.

Kenyans were asked to remain vigilant after the garissa attack and this is what led to the rough morning that occurred in the kikuyu campus. The injured students were rushed to hospital for treatment.
