9 people lost their lives after mosque wall collapsed in southB

Nine people have been reported dead, eight people have been taken to different hospitals and three others missing after a perimeter wall of a mosque in south B collapsed and fell on the nearby shanties on Monday night during the heavy downpour.

Residents claim that the wall is on higher ground and due to that it fell on shops and kiosks during the heavy rains at 8pm Monday evening.

“I was with my grandson at my shed when I heard a loud bang followed by screams. When I looked behind me, everything was covered by stones,” said Ms Hellen Auma, a fish monger at Fuata Nyayo.
