Rapper wangeci opens up about the fatal accident she was involved in.
Following the fatal accident that got Kenyan rapper, Wangechi, in
hospital for months, she has come out and finally talked about it. They had
gone to their friend’s birthday party and had dinner before the accident
happened. All she remembers about that night was that they were driving home
when the accident happened but she found herself in the hospital bed. She
had not realized how bad the accident had affected her until one day she wanted
to get out of the hospital to go prepare for the Blanket and Wines at the end
of the month where she was supposed to be performing. She got out of the bed to
try and walk but couldn’t. That’s when she realised the effects of the
accidents.
The accident claimed the life of her best friend Tiona Wangechi. The two
had met six months before the accident when rapper Wangechi was looking for a
make up artist. They had grown closer each day since then.
“I
feel guilty. I knew what she was going through but I never fully comprehended
how deep it was. I met her online on Instagram when I was looking for a make-up
artiste six months before the accident. She was just the complete opposite of
me. She was an extrovert and I like to keep to myself most of the time. We just
clicked and hanged out more after that. She was really sweet and she got along
with everybody, there was warmness in a room whenever she was around.” she said
about her friend’s demise.
Wangechi went on and said that her mom was the pillar during all that
time she was in the hospital.
“She
is strong and I love her. At the hospital during my recovery, she never shed
any tears in front of me. She was the one comforting my friends who would come
by my bedside and broke down in tears. She clothed and fed me when I was
recovering. She is saved and she relied on her faith in God that everything
would be OK. I had to repeat a semester in school and I would find it hard to
cope and I would come home all depressed. She would look at me and tell me ‘you
have gone through an accident where you lost your friend and now you are back
on your feet. There is no way you can give up now’. I love her for that” she
said
Many of her fans and friends had hoped that after her recovery she would
switch to do gospel music but on the contrary, she finds the gospel music
industry as “fake”. She said she has her own plans, things she want to do for
herself first.
