Kibera girl results to selling lemons after teachers' strike bites
Its days a
after the government gave a directive of the closure of all private and private
schools in the country. This has currently led to a lot of criticism between the
opposition party, teachers’ unions, and private schools as they declare the
move by the government to close all schools was not the appropriate thing to do
and further go ahead to add that the President was misadvised.
Well Many
schools have obeyed the order despite other private schools who have defied and
decided to move on with learning.
Most of the
children have taken it as a due advantage to enjoy a prolonged holiday without
homework assessment and tuition. Well it’s
a different case to 16 year old Caroline from Kibera slums who has been selling
Lemons at Katwekera market in Kibera slum. She says it’s the best option as it
keeps her engaged unlike staying at home idle which will make her engage
herself in other evils like drugs, sex and other form of peer pressure from
friends
