Mary Hussein, MCA for Kamenu Ward in Thika, Kiambu County, has been left counting losses after her car and house were burnt to ashes on Sunday November 22, 2015 by rioters.
The protesters, suspected to be traders from the nearby Madaraka market, are said to have been revenging after the market was also set on fire earlier the same day at 3am, destroying their property and stock
The traders, from the largest market in Thika, claimed that the MCA had been working with Kiambu County government to frustrate their businesses, according to Kiambu News.
Hussein had been in a meeting with leaders of the market on Sunday morning with regard to the 3am fire, when reports of her house going up in flames reached her.
