Sad; See what has happened to OTONGLO’s mum; Is President Kenyatta seeing this?

All is not well at the home of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s adopted son, Daniel Owira, popularly known as Otonglo.

This is after his mother failed to raise enough money to cater for her huge hospital bill leading to her detention at Nairobi West Hospital for over three weeks now.

Otonglo’s mum, Rose Awino, was admitted at the hospital after a wall collapsed on her in South B due to heavy rains.

According to close family members, Rose had already spent all her savings at a South C clinic where she had been rushed for first aid by good Samaritans who had rescued her from the crash site.

The clinic later referred her to Nairobi West Hospital for specialized treatment but even though she has already fully recovered and discharged, she cannot leave the hospital as her medical bill is too high for her to pay.

Apparently Rose is supposed to pay Kshs 233,000, but has only managed to pay Kshs 120,000 which was raised in a Harambee.

Speaking from her hospital bed, the 52 year old lady, revealed that her continued stay at the hospital is greatly affecting her children.

“I have a disabled son who has to be fed, washed and taken care of, and I am the only one who does that. During the floods, my house was filled with water and my elder son had to stand holding his two siblings the whole night. Half of the house was under water. I felt so helpless since the hospital couldn’t allow me to go home and take care of my children,” she said.

The distraught mother further revealed that Otonglo’s school is also demanding her to pay a balance of Sh. 18,000 for her son despite President Uhuru making a pledge to support Otonglo’s education.
