Shiro Wariunge narrates how her “twitter crush” conned her off 48k on a blind date

When you get hooked to a person on social media, you forget all your senses, some stranger offering you all their attention, feels like cocaine, you know its useless but you are still hooked to it and you cannot bring yourself to stop. Now Miss Morgarn’s sister and the 2010 Safaricom Faceoff, Queen of Facebook, Shiro Waruinge got herself hooked to this unidentified man on twitter and she narrates how once a twitter crush turned a love con getting Sh 15k from her. She exposed the details of the incident on twitter on Monday.

It all started with direct messages with the man who she thought would be her prince. As the days passed by, she fell under the man’s spell until they agreed to meet up.

“Then one day we decided to meet for drinks since I only knew him through twitter… He looked okay to me… But I realized something. He was shy and quiet in person. Unlike him on twitter all rowdy & loud etc.” she tweeted

On the second date at the KFC, Kimathi Street, the man sought for help from her and amazingly, she gladly bailed him out.

“He told me he had a school fees balance of 48,700 Kshs and wanted me to help him with that amount. *faints*” said Ms Waruinge who works at Serena taking home a salary of Sh. 35k.

She gave the man Sh. 15k and told him that she would get the rest.

“Anyway,,, So i hustled for the remaining cash. I hosted karaoke night for two nights, I club hosted at Tribeka then earned the balance,”said Shiro.

But when she called him to  come and pick the rest, the man insisted that she should go to his house in Kahawa Sukari, an offered she gladly accepted. They drank Fanta Orange and watched a movie on his laptop before things got heated up and the couple started kissing. The make out session was interrupted by a call to Ms Waruinge’s phone from her mum.

After the call, the man asked her what she would eat and she said pork. The man left his phone as he went out to get the pork and third-rate Kibao vodka. Shiro decided to snoop through his phone.

“I saw an interesting thread from a female famous tweep in MKU. What I read broke my heart into tiny bits, *puts hands on head*. This chick let’s call her “Jane doe” was John does girlfriend.She needed money cause she was moving out as she had gotten a job at KCB. So this f***** wanted me to give him cash to help his dark skinned fat ass girlfriend move out??!! Oh you messed with the wrong butch boo.” She added.

She slapped him and ran off to the stage telling him to keep the 15k. The man begged her not to take the whole drama to twitter.

Ms Waruinge says she found herself in Kiamumbi after boarding the wrong Matatu in the confusion.
