Here's why Diamond Platnumz’s mother fears for his superstar son.

What would happen if multi-award winning Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz’s music career flopped?
Would he be able to sustain the lavish lifestyle he has been accustomed to? What would become of his young family, especially his infant daughter Tiffah.
This fear has given Diamond’s mum, Sanura Kasim, sleepless nights.
Nasibu Abdul Juma, better known by stage name Diamond Platnumz, is currently on a winning streak. He’s receiving numerous accolades both in Tanzania and oversees, and it seems like he’s bagging every award he’s been nominated for.
He recently won the coveted Best African Act for the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), beating competition from top continental acts like Yemi Alade, DJ Arafat, AKA and Davido.
Besides the EMAs, Diamond boasts of other numerous awards such as: AFRIMMA, NAFCA and MAMA for his musical adeptness.
He recently recorded a collabo with international RnB act, Ne-Yo, and he disclosed that the collabo has got his competition on edge.
Every other parent would be proud of such enormous achievements, and can only pray his or her child makes it even bigger in the industry. On the flip side, a parent also fears for their child-especially in such a competitive industry.
My greatest fear is watching my son’s musical career crumble. I know there are a lot of competitors in the music industry who are equally talented. This year (2015), my son’s star has shone very brightly!” Sanura told Tanzania’s Bongo 5.
She added: “News about him and I literally feature on dailies every other day. Many people read, and it feels good. He has placed us in a very high position in society. As a parent I often worry for my son.”
Being a mother of an artiste, she knows best what it takes to succeed in the industry. So what is the one trait that she feels one must have?
Music has a lot of challenges and if you don’t persist, you can easily go downhill,” advised Mama Diamond
