Here's why Joseph Boinnet Is Calling Out Kenyans With Armored Cars

Joseph Boinnet, the inspector General  is calling up Kenyans who own armored cars to report to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He cited Security Laws Amendment act 2014 as the reason for the crackdown.
The law states that it is illegal to own an armored vehicle unless you are licensed to have it.  A new Firearms Licensing Board will be established in the near future by the inspector General where the board is expected to include members of Kenya Wildlife Service, the National Police and representatives from the Attorney General’s office, reports The Standard.

Boinnet said in an advertisement promoting the push for armored vehicles to be reported, “any person who manufactures, assembles, purchases, acquires or has in his possession an armoured vehicle without approval shall subject to this Act be guilty of an offence.”
The Inspector General further called on those who plan to import armored cars to also follow the law.
